Kanyakumari Beach - Kanyakumari

The southernmost tip of India is Kanyakumari, and is the meeting point of Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. The Kanyakumari Beach is highly ranked because of its paragon beauty and scenic view. Noisy sea water and eternal rocks makes this beach as one of the most frequented beaches in the world. The beach is known for its stunning sunrise and sunset, which offers a beautiful visual panorama to the visitors. The view of the sunset and moonrise on an April full moon day is magnificent and attracts a huge number of visitors. The scene gives the notion that the ocean is being washed with a shower of red-gold mist. Moreover, the place is also described as the 'Land's End' due to its geographical placement.

History
Kanyakumari Beach got its name from a mythological story that is about a Hindu deity Kanya, who is supposed to be an incarnation of the Goddess Parvati. Kanya put in a lot of efforts to win Lord Shiva's heart and wanted to get married to him but was unsuccessful and so she vowed that she would remain a virgin all her life.

The beach is a famous tourist attraction that is well-known for its scenic view and serene climate. There is a Kumari Amman Temple that is dedicated to Goddess Kumari and it witnesses a large number of devotees from all over the world who come here to seek the blessings of the Goddess. The tour to Kanyakumari Beach is incomplete without a visit to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial that is constructed on the beach in the year 1970.
