Colva Beach - Margao

Colva Beach is a white sand beach located in the South Goa district of Goa in India. The state of Goa is a tropical paradise located on the west coast of India. It is unique from the rest of India owing to its western influence and architecture. Goa offers the tourists a fun filled vacation. Its idyllic tropical beaches and warm tropical waters beckon visitors to relax and bask in its pleasant and soothing ambience. Amongst the beautiful beaches in Goa, the Colva Beach takes the credit of being one of the longest beaches in the world and is spread over 24 km. It is lined by coconut palms along the shore extending from Bogmalo in the north to Cabo de Rama in the south along Goa’s coastline.

Over the weekend, the Colva Beach explodes with the crowd of tourist as well as locals. The white sands of Colva Beach are fine grained and soft and ideal for walking barefoot anytime of day or night. This is made perfect by the warm and tropical weather in Goa. The area is fully developed with plenty of restaurants offering a mix of Goan and International cuisine and tropical beach shacks providing a cold drink and fine meal at most suitable rates. The beach is continuously supervised by the lifeguards and the swimming area is marked with colored flags.
Ideal Time To Visit
The best time to visit the Colva Beach is from November to July. It is noticed that the beach gets particularly busy in October, when hoards of pilgrims come and visit the auspicious Colva Church. The rainy season starts from August to October in Goa with limited sunshine and therefore it is not ideal for visiting.

How to reach
The Colva Beach is fully connected through adequate land routes. Regular buses ply the area from Margao and Vasco da Gama KTC bus stands, situated 3kms north of Margao city. The closest railway station to the place is in Margao with the newest being the Konkan Rail train station located about 3kms from the Margao city center.
