Manzanillo Beach - Costa Rica

Manzanillo is one of the beaches which have a quite ambience and is an ideal place for one to relax. The tourists visiting the nearby beaches of Malpais and Santa Teresa also visit the serener Manzanillo Beach (Playa Manzanillo) to get some relief.

Many people say that beach is not the right place to swim since there are rocks underwater. But at the nearby lagoon, which is guarded by a rocky reef teamed with the exquisite marine fauna, snorkeling is fantabulous.

One of the best things to do at Manzanillo is to explore the beaches around it. These beaches are totally isolated, there is no road access to them, and there is not even a single building or a house on them.

These beaches also comprise of the renowned Coyote Beach (Playa Coyote) which is at a distance of four hours by foot from the Manzanillo Beach.

World class services
There are many services available on the Manzanillo Beach because although being a small place. There are only a few accommodation options on the beach and just two or three restaurants and bars but hardly notice any hullabaloo at the beach. In addition, these hotels, bars and restaurants serve all the foods and beverages at the most affordable prices.

Best time to come
Manzanillo is open throughout the year. People at large scale enjoy each and every weathers at the beach. However, general recommendation is to avoid rainy seasons.

Swift Accessibility
There are a few ways to access this beach like it can be accessed through road via highway 160. Driving can be an option to reach this isolated beach but during the rainy months even driving is not possible.

A ferry can also be chosen from Puntarenas to Naranjo or Paquera Beach or for comfort traveling flights can also be availed from close Samara via San Jose.
Manzanillo Beach is 10minutes beyond the famous Boquilla Beach. Manzanillo Beach is not safe for swimming due to various rocks around the coast.

The lagoon nearby is safeguarded by the rock reef and makes it an ideal place for snorkeling.

This beach is quite isolated and unspoiled as not many tourists know about it. One can drive to this secluded beach and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature at its best.

The beach has a small number of restaurants and bars, where one can taste various delicious Colombian dishes.

The beach has very less number of houses near by but still one can also get a cheap accommodation near by.

One can reach the beach by travelling via highway 160 or by flight till Samara. One should avoid travelling to Manzanillo Beach during the months of September to November as the place gets quite swampy due to heavy rains.

However you can board at the place at any time of the season. The temperature and weather is always normal through out the year.
